In the middle of March, two crows began to build this nest at the top of a tree outside David's office window. It's amazing how long it takes to put together a nest. After completing it, the female laid her eggs and started their incubation, a process of about two weeks.
The female would sit in the nest and caw at her mate as well as other crows that approached the nest. When we came to the office on Monday, however, we didn't see the mother and assumed that something had happened, as the young stay in the nest for about a month before they take their first flight.
The sad part is that we've seen other birds come to the nest and destroy it, twig by twig, most likely using the twigs for their own nests.
